Retaining Knobs For Fin Assembly
Price is for a pair of knobs
Plastic retaining knobs for installing carbon and fiberglass blades in foot pockets. The retaining knob system can be used to secure fin blades in Picasso and OMER foot pockets, instead of a conventional installation using screws. We prefer using knobs because screws require holes in the blade near the toe angle, which weakens the blade in an area where it experiences the most stress. Each knob comes in two pieces that snap together. Instant glue may be used to permanently bond the two pieces. The knobs require a hole to be made in the back edge of the blade, where it doesn't affect the blade's functionality and durability. The knob is installed on the blade and inserted into the corresponding hole in the foopocket sole, preventing the blade from sliding forward out of the foot pocket.
Blade rails are still required for installation, as the foot pocket tendons clipped over the blade rails do most of the work keeping the blade in the foot pocket.
The retaining knob will be in the same position for the same foot pocket in different sizes, so the same blade can be used with a different size foot pocket without further modification.
