Repair patch for open cell wetsuit exterior

Product is in stock ready to ship

The iron on patch provides a strong, flexible and permanent repair for tears in all lined neoprene articles. It's used to repair tears in the exterior lining of an open cell wetsuit. It's not used to repair the open cell interior. To repair tears in the open cell interior use Open Cell Wetsuit Repair Glue. The iron on patch is used together with open cell wetsuit repair Glue to repair a wetsuit when a tear went through the open cell interior and the exterior lining. Includes one 10" X 6" black patch, heat shielding paper and directions.

    Repair instructions

    1. Wash and dry wetsuit.
    2. Pre-heat iron to acrylic, low or delicate setting. For irregular surfaces, including sleeves and legs, insert a piece of wood to create a firm, flat ironing surface.
    3. Cut a patch to overlap damaged area by 3/4”. Always round the corners of your patch, patches with curved edges are less likely to peel back later. Place patch over damaged area with the urethane coated side down and cover with full sheet of heat shielding paper.
    4. With preheated iron, press the patch down with firm, even pressure for a few seconds. Lift and apply for another few seconds. Use your judgment here as leaving the iron on the wetsuit exterior at a too high heat setting for too long, will melt the wetsuit lining.
    5. Allow repair to cool for a few minutes before testing adhesion. Apply more heat if needed.
